Bathhouse: The Musical!, written
by Esther Daack and Tim Evanicki, follows the story of Billy, a
wide-eyed youth venturing into a bathhouse for the first time. He’s looking for
love, but soon realizes that the other patrons are looking for something …a
little more temporary. With some guidance, Billy soon learns the ins and outs
of bathhouse etiquette. Taking cues from crowd-pleasers like Forever Plaid and Naked Boys Singing From The Waist Down, Bathhouse: The Musical! promises loads of
laughs, original songs, four guys in towels, and a bit of heart.
The 2008 National Tour is produced by
Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, which is well-known nationally for developing Nunsense and producing the world premiere of Forever Plaid, as well as recent
National Tours of Ain’t Misbehavin’(25th Anniversary Tour),
Snoopy: The Musical (50th Anniversary Tour), Shout: The Mod Musical, and The Great American Trailer Park Musical.
Performances will take place
at Downstairs Cabaret Theatre Two, 172 W Main Street, Rochester. Tickets
may be purchased in advance by contacting Downstairs Cabaret Theatre at
